ALI—MIGHTY IS HIS MIGHT—SHOWS 'AMMAR THE DEPARTED NATIONS AND THE COMPANIONS OF OUR MASTER MUHAMMAD AND AL-HUSAYN—MIGHTY IS THEIR MIGHT
Among his miracles at Siffin and with the Kharijites are such that, if we were to mention them all, the book would be long and the discourse expansive; indeed, they would constitute a separate book in their own right. However, we have mentioned two reports from those miracles in both locations—each report containing many miracles and a dazzling, momentous power. The third report is from the collection of the Siffin-related accounts, the Lordly miracles, and the Divine powers appearing from the Reality of the Essence (Haqiqat al-Dhat)—may its Manifestor be exalted above [the need for] fathers and mothers. It is what was narrated by al-Husayn bin Hamdan al-Khasibi—may Allah honor his station—on the authority of Ja'far bin Muhammad bin Malik, from Salamah bin Yunus, from Kathir bin Habib al-Washa, from Abu Hatim, from al-'Ala' bin al-Salt, from Yazid al-'Ijli.
[19] On the authority of Ammar bin Yasir, who said: "I witnessed the Commander of the Faithful—mighty is his might—when he departed from 'Anah intending for Siffin. He stood upon a rise of the earth, solitary, with no one touching him and no one by his side. I said to myself: 'The Commander of the Faithful has isolated himself from the entire army; not one of his children or companions is with him.'
