Authentic narrations have come by the transmission of the trustworthy among the believers that this verse was recited in the presence of our Master al-Sadiq—may his might be strengthened—whereupon he said: "Never would the Messiah disdain to be a servant to Ali." Then He resumed and said: {And whoever disdains His worship and is arrogant - He will gather them to Himself all together} 3 . And the one who disdained our Master and appointed himself as an Imam instead of Allah—and it was said: instead of our Master, the Commander of the Faithful (may his might be strengthened)—is the one whose mention preceded regarding censure and satanism.
