And without dispute among all the monotheists, our Master, the Commander of the Faithful—may his might be strengthened—is named by "Faith" (Al-Iman), and it is His saying, Exalted is He: {And whoever exchanges disbelief for faith has certainly strayed from the soundness of the way} 1 .

Disbelief (Al-Kufr) is Iblis—may Allah curse him—and Faith (Al-Iman) is our Master, the Commander of the Faithful—may his might be strengthened. The evidence for that is: the saying of our Master the "Meem"—may his might be strengthened—in one of his battles when Amr ibn Abd Wud al-Amiri emerged—and he was one of the personifications of the "Second" and was the man famous in the [days of] Ignorance—he emerged against the Commander of the Faithful—may his might be strengthened. At that moment, the Master Messenger said: "The whole of Disbelief has emerged against the whole of Faith." And His saying, Exalted is He: {[Adhere to] the dye of Allah, and who is better than Allah in dyeing? And we are worshippers of Him} 2 . The "Dye" (Al-Sibghah): it is the visible form, because the dye has no body, and the Form: the worshipped Meaning. And the Dye: Allah set it as a parable and named His essential form "the Dye," because the dye has no form.
