When the Meaning—Exalted is He—desired to honor His Name and His Veil, He caused his body to vanish, removed it, and hid it beneath the radiance of the Light of His Essence. Thus, the Name remained as he was at the beginning of his affair, before his appearance in the Human Temple (Haykal): connected to his Meaning, inseparable from the Light of the Essence .
Stripped of his Luminous Temple (Haykal) and his Essential Body. The Meaning (Ma‘nā) enabled the 'World of Clay' [humanity] to look upon Him. Exalted and Sublime is His affair; He appeared to them in the form of His Name, yet He—Glory be to Him—is manifest through His own Essence. He has never departed from His true Being (kiyān), even if He appeared to the physical sight (‘ayān).
Without dispute, He is a Capable Deity, the First and the Last. He showed His creation that He is manifest in a human form that eats and drinks, yet He is contrary to that [human limitation]. He is capable of appearing in the form of His Name and His Veil, but in the ultimate reality of that [manifestation], He appears neither as Name nor as Gate—He appears only through His Essence.
This is part of the obscure, sublime knowledge and the hidden secret. Exalted is the Capable, the High, and far removed from what the ignorant slanderer says about Him.
