Whoever was 'blind' in this life [to the Truth],

Allah shall strike them with calamities.

And whoever strayed from the rank of the Masters,

Without [witnessing] a miracle, I [declare]:

Allah has distinguished every party [sect],

And the Truth has become clear, not obscure.

They [the deniers] said that 'The High' (al-Ali) is merely a Name;

The Absent One who is not seen as manifest.

So He made them drink boiling water [in Hell]

And [seized] the neck of the denier in his boastfulness.

The 'Ayn (Ali) displayed pride over every filth,

Restraining the hungry and the distracted [opponents]."

And by him [the same author]—may Allah grant him His pleasure and fulfill his aspirations."

"Strayed has he who introduces the 'Meaning' (Ma‘nā) into number;

For He is the Most High, the Great, the Anza’, the Eternal (al-Samad).

He is the Ancient, prior to the Mīm (Muhammad) who is our Goal;

He has never been absent from His creation, transcendent above all observation.
