When our Master, the Commander of the Faithful—mighty is his might—had prayed over him and escorted him, he called out to the people and permitted the people to pray over him and buried him. The evidence for that is the saying of the Mighty and Majestic: {Indeed, Allah and His angels confer blessing upon the Prophet. O you who have believed, ask [Allah to confer] blessing upon him and ask [Allah to grant him] peace} 1 .

[4] It was narrated from Abu Dharr—blessings of Allah be upon him—that he said to our Master, the Commander of the Faithful (Aziz): "You have left me, O Truth (Haqq), and I have no friend," and that was at the time when Uthman exiled him. The evidence for that is the saying of the Mighty and Majestic: {That is because Allah is the Truth, and that what they call upon besides Him is falsehood} 2 ; and those whom they call upon besides Him are the First, the Second, and the Third; {And that Allah is the Most High, the Grand} 3 .

[5] It was narrated from al-Harith al-Hamdani that he came to the Commander of the Faithful—mighty is his might—and said to him: "O my Master, I am a man whose age has advanced, my skin has thinned, and my bones have become frail; and I do not know whether I am heading to Paradise or to the Fire."
