Bearing witness that the form of the Anza’ [Ali],
Which appeared among the people, is the Ultimate Goal.
In my disparagement of women, I have gone to extremes,
With an intention for Allah, the Possessor of Sublime Height.
I am innocent of what Ibn Khallad says,
And of the rebellious group associated with him.
Upon him be curses, and upon them as well,
As long as a dove coos atop a thicket.
So listen and comprehend, O you whom Allah has granted success to hear wisdom, and whose sight He has sharpened, and whom He has eased and empowered toward Monotheism and goodness. [Listen to] what was brought by this expert Monotheist and profound scholar—may Allah sanctify his soul, illuminate his shrine, and forgive his sins, past and present, and all the believers. Indeed, He is the Most Merciful.
Among the Monotheists is the great Emir, the practicing scholar, the Ornament of Monotheists, and the Pride of the Gnostic Scholars: Abu al-Hasan Ra’iq ibn al-Khadir al-Ghassani. He was among those who ruled Tiberias, Tripoli, and the neighboring regions and districts. His son, Muhammad ibn Ra’iq, ruled after him during the era of the Emir Sayf al-Dawla (Ali ibn Abd Allah ibn Hamdan), the ruler of Aleppo."
