I see that He decreed [death], and yet He was

[Already] "dead" [to the world] in the "Hasanid" form (Imam al-Hasan).

I see His "killing" by poison—yet what is poison?

It cannot impose a fate of death upon the Deity.

He was manifest as an Imam, after another

Imam, before the eyes of the guided ones.

All of this was to "familiarize" (yū’nisa) the creation by grouping them,

Until He passed [the manifestation] to the "Askarite" (Imam al-Askari).

After this, His Name [Muhammad]—blessed be He—

Ceaselessly moved through the Eternal path.

Manifest in his appearances through names

That are clear, pointing toward the Prophetic.

For he (the Name) is a Light from His (the Meaning's) Light, and he is a "Part"

Of Him, though not in a sense of equal [partnership].
