He said: 'Who is your Master?' I said: 'My Creator,

And my Sustainer—and He is Ali, the Possessor of Sublime Heights.'

He said: 'The Prince of Bees (Amir al-Nahl)?' I said openly: 'He is the Ancient, and He is the Creator of all things!'

He appeared to them in a visible form,

While behind it lies a Mystery (Ghayb) that cannot be seen.

He fashioned it as a veil over His Divinity (Lahut),

Revealing His power through it to all of creation.

This appearance was a trial; thus He appeared

In His creation, like His creation, without concealment.

The Master of the Command is Powerful and Capable;

He manifests to mankind in whatever manner He sees fit.

Do you not say that even Iblis (Satan) possesses

The power of transformation? Then what of Him who originated mankind?

Were it not for the manifestation of the Essence, it would not be possible

For anyone to truly answer the Call with obedience on the Day of Summons.
