If we return to the essence of Reality and Justice within the spiritual Path: the citation and recitation of his poetry is considered a form of prayer, glorification, supplication, and sanctification. Since this is so, we shall present from his virtues a portion of what he composed and established as a constitution (Dustur) for us to rely upon and a law (Qanun) for us to refer back to. He (may Allah be pleased with him) said:

Five things there are, with which Allah is unique

So that creation may know who is the Unique, the Eternal.

His sending down of the rain, and the knowledge of the Hour And the knowledge of what the womb holds of a child.

No soul knows what it shall earn on its morrow

Nor in which land it shall be lost (die).

Until, when Ali declared: 'I am indeed

With these matters All-Knowing,' the one of guidance said:

'This is He to whom all the Messengers

Pointed, in the ancient past and for eternity.
