For weaning the infant before two years
Is harmful to every nourished child
But weaning the infant after two years
Is the act of a compassionate and tender father
So hear the truth from a brother who professes the Truth
Loyal to Ahmad and the Successor
As a Lahiqi, I offer you the Truth through poetry
Shielded from every base and deviant person
"As for Abu al-Qasim al-Junayd ibn Muhammad al-Qawariri: the jurist of Iraq and the Sheikh of Sufism, he was among the most illustrious believers of the 'People of the Staffs' (Ashab al-Akakin). He is famously known for his righteousness among all sects, both the esoteric (al-Batin) and the exoteric (al-Zahir)—may Allah honor his station. He used to frequently chant poetry to himself, and in everything he composed, a single piece of his poetry rarely exceeded four or five verses, at most reaching seven. Among his sayings (may Allah be pleased with him) are:
I remembered You, for I had forgotten You for a moment
And the easiest part of remembrance is the mention by my tongue
