"And by Abu Nuwas al-Hasan ibn Hani, who is at the head of the degree of the 'Tested Ones' (al-Mukhtabarin)—and he is Abd al-Rahman ibn Muljim the Tested (peace be upon him):
If I have deceived you in my loyalty
Then I have disbelieved in the Manifest Meaning
And in His Name, and in His Gate
And in the location of the Hidden Secret
Nay, by Him who sealed the pebble
And by Him who was surnamed 'The Successor'
Never would I say that an Imamate
Belonged to Taym or 'Adi
The more correct reading of this verse is:
Never would I say that my Imamate
Belonged to Taym or 'Adi
Reflect then, my master—may Allah grant you happiness through the eye of inner-sight and clear from you the pitfalls of confusion—upon what the Master Abu Nuwas (peace be upon him) has composed. He has most excellently established for those of intellect and those of leadership and refinement a hidden affirmation and a concealed symbol (ramz).
