The Lord—Glorified be His Might—said to him: "Then I shall begin with the very first question you have concealed in the depths of your heart (suwayda' qalbika), of which no one knows but Allah the Exalted—and from it stem all your other questions."
The Himyarite said: "Grant me and my people this favor, if you wish, and all those who are present."
The Lord—Glorified be His Might—said: "You have concealed within yourself the intent to ask me about my inheritance from the Messenger of Allah (PBUH)."
The Himyarite said: "That is exactly it, O Commander of the Faithful!"
The Commander of the Faithful—Glorified be His Might—said: "I inherited from him his Spirit (Ruh), his Soul (Nafs), his Knowledge, his horse, his mule, his donkey, his camel, his sword, his armor, his shirt, his turban, his cloak, his ring, his staff, his chamber, and Fadak [the lands of] al-Awali, and all that Allah designated for him—which is the Fifth (Khums) of the world—and everything between Sana'a and Hajar." The Himyarite asked: "And where is all that, O Commander of the Faithful?" He replied: "It is within this trunk (ayba), O brother of Himyar."
