And I am of all things Knowing, and of all things Encompassing and for every thing, a Preserver (Hafiz); and over every thing, All-Powerful (Qadir); and for every thing, a Witness (Shahid). So, where is your request and the request of your people? If you wish, I shall inform you of everything you have brought with you, even before you or your people utter a word."
The Himyarite said: "O Commander of the Faithful, you speak the truth and with sincerity, for no one other than you would say what you have said. Had you not been as you described, you would not have claimed it. We are a people who have come to you; we heard of you, so we sought you out. We, the assembly of Himyar, are the most eloquent in argument and the most persistent in questioning. We had prepared questions to ask you from the moment we entered your presence. But when we looked upon this awe-inspiring radiance (balja muhiba), our intellects were restricted, our tongues stammered, our minds were scattered, our vision was bewildered, our understandings failed to address you, our arguments were severed, our resolve vanished, and all the questions we had prepared left us. We know well that there is no one among the descendants of Ma'ad ibn Adnan, nor among the descendants of Ya'rub ibn Qahtan, who could defeat us in argument, refute our speech, or inform us of something we do not know."
