[37] Perhaps one who has not delved into the oceans of wisdom might argue using the words of our Lord and Master al-Sadiq—Glorified be His Might—wherein he stated: "No age, time, period, or moment is ever devoid of an Existing Meaning (Ma'na Mawjud), an Extended Shadow (Zill Mamdud), and a Sought Gate (Bab Maqsud)."

Such a person might say: "This is an age in which we do not see or find anything of what our Lord al-Sadiq described. Thus, it is as if these reports and their like—and everything that points to His existence and His manifestation among His creation—have no reality."

Denial of the Existence of the Meaning

We say—and success is through Allah—in response to those who deny the existence of the Meaning, His manifestation, and what He created of the Luminous World (al-Alam al-Nurani) and the Earthly Human World (al-Alam al-Turabi):

As for these reports uttered by the Lord al-Sadiq and all the Imams—Glorified be their Might—as well as everything uttered by the Divine Stations (al-Maqamat al-Ma'nawiyyah) and the manifestation in the Anza'iyyah Form [the form of Ali] which points to Existence: it is the Truth in which there is no doubt or suspicion. It is the firm speech (al-nutq al-muhkam) "to which falsehood cannot come from before it nor from behind it; a revelation from the All-Wise, the Praiseworthy." We shall explain this with an explanation that will illuminate, by the light of its guidance, every successful believer.
