Then my Lord said: "O Jabir, look to your left." I looked, and behold, there was a vast sea that terrified me, and I was overcome with anxiety. He said: "Steady, O Jabir; this is the Indian Ocean, and there is India in the midst of it." I saw many cities, mines of every type within the earth, and islands containing plants and trees the likes of which I had never seen. I saw elephants, strange beasts, and horses of wondrous appearance. Then I looked at Khosrow, and behold, he was standing by a tree on one of those islands; and behold, the Second was likewise by another tree on one of those islands.

I said: "This is Khosrow whom my Lord showed me, and this is the Second, there is no doubt about it, left alone in this place." While I was watching them, they transformed and became two elephants. One of them began to charge at the other, striking him with his tusk and goring him with his head; the other did the same to his companion until one killed the other. Then the slain one returned to life and rose against the killer, pursuing him with the same actions until he killed him just as he had been killed. I saw this occur between them many times; they never ceased from this cycle.

I continued to watch them until my Lord called me: "O Jabir!" I replied: "At Your service, O my Lord." He said: "This is their habitual state; they shall continue to do this and be punished by it until the Caliphate and the Command depart from the descendants of Abd Shams."
