Each one would answer and approach until standing before him, addressing him in his own tongue. Khosrow would ask each about his condition and how he had become an Indian.
Each would say: "O Khosrow, is it not you who did this [to us]? Indeed, it is this King whom you see with your own eyes—He whom your understanding cannot grasp, and whom your knowledge cannot encompass. Beware of Him, O Khosrow, lest He settle you where we are, so that you become as you see us, losing your sovereignty, your loftiness, and your renown."
When Khosrow saw this, he was bewildered by his situation. He turned to Hormuz and said: "How can we find deliverance from that which has befallen us in this place?"
Hormuz said to him: "By Allah, O Khosrow, nothing [bad] has befallen Hormuz, for he possesses knowledge and certainty regarding his own affair. He knows that the Indian is the One who owns the kings in the East of the earth and its West, who removes their sovereignty and changes their lands. Woe to you, O Khosrow, because of Him!"
Khosrow said: "Indeed, what I have seen is magnificent. There remains no one in this place among those who perished but that I have called him, and he answered me, spoke to me, and I beheld him as he beheld me."
