Ali Informing Jabir ibn Abd Allah al-Ansari (Peace be upon him) regarding the Pond (al-Baraka)
We follow that with what we previously resolved to mention, which is a report containing a collection of miracles displayed by our Lord during His encounter with the Kharijites. It is the tenth report—Exalted is the High, the Capable, the First, the Last, the Hidden, the Manifest, the Seizer, the Resurrector—known as the Report of the Pond (Khabar al-Baraka).
[34] Narrated by Abu al-Husayn Muhammad ibn Ali al-Jali—may Allah sanctify his soul—tracing the chain of transmission to Jabir ibn Yazid al-Ju'fi, who said: Jabir ibn Abd Allah al-Ansari (Peace be upon him) narrated to me, saying:
Our Lord—Glorified be His Might—settled us at a place called Hulula. It was inhabited by landowners (Dihqans), livestock, servants, and gardens. There were strange ruins there belonging to Khosrow (Kisra), with elegant amusement grounds and festival sites. The Commander of the Faithful—Glorified be His Might—began to wander through those courtyards and ruins, saying: "O Jabir, this is a place where such-and-such used to be done."
