I did not intend to omit this miracle which our Lord displayed upon meeting the Kharijites, and we shall arrange it following His miracle at Siffin; however, I had overlooked it as my thoughts wandered to other miracles. Once I recalled it, I also remembered a dazzling miracle and an overwhelming power that our Lord displayed at Siffin, and I decided not to leave this book devoid of it, but to follow what was previously mentioned with it. This [nonlinear recording] occurred only because I have transcribed everything in this book from my own thoughts and memory, without preparing a rough draft—and that is by the success granted by Allah, His Might, and His Bounty. This is what we have resumed, so as not to leave our book without mentioning the miracle at Siffin, even though His miracles are beyond counting.

[33] And it is among what was narrated by Abu al-Husayn Muhammad ibn Ali al-Jali (Peace be upon him), who said: Al-Husayn ibn Hamdan al-Khasibi (Peace be upon him) narrated to me, saying: Ja'far ibn Muhammad ibn Malik al-Fazari narrated to me, from his father, from his grandfather Malik, from Salim ibn Awf al-Absi, from Kathir ibn Mahbub al-Madani al-Raqqi, from Ziyad ibn al-Ghadab, from Harithah ibn al-Nu'man, from Ammar ibn Yasir (Peace be upon him), who said:

The Commander of the Faithful—Glorified be His Might—called me at Siffin by night and said to me: "O Ammar, I am going to manifest to you something concerning Mu'awiya.
