Furthermore, those sixty parts are but one part out of six hundred parts; and those six hundred parts are but one part out of six hundred thousand parts; and those six hundred thousand parts are but one part out of six hundred thousand thousand [six hundred million] parts; and those six hundred thousand thousand parts are but one part of parts that have no end and no number, just as Allah—Mighty and Majestic—said: {Say, "If the sea were ink for [writing] the words of my Lord, the sea would be exhausted before the words of my Lord were exhausted, even if We brought the like of it as a supplement."} 1 . If this is its description, then what would be its beginning or its end, and where is its limit, and can its essence be perceived? For speech originates from the Speaker; if you find a beginning for the Initiator, then you shall find a beginning for the speech, and if you find an end for the Initiator, you shall find a conclusion for the speech. So, comprehend this, O Mufaddal, and let those of the people of Monotheism (Tawhid) and the recognition of Allah the Exalted who hear it comprehend it. For therein is no "No," "How," or "What"; for through the questioning of "No," "How," and "What," the misguided perished and the polytheists went astray.

Contemplate, then, O successful master, the words of our Lord al-Sadiq—Glorified be His Might—and the sequence of the manifestations of the Ancient Meaning (Al-Ma'na), the High, the Great, in the Luminous World and the earthly, corporeal world.
