And His saying: {And Allah spoke to Moses with [direct] speech.”} 1 Therefore, He has a mouth and a tongue with which He speaks.

hus, these noble verses and others clarify in a lucid and explicit manner that Allah, glorified is He, possesses physical limbs. If the Holy Qur'an has affirmed these bodily members for the Creator, and our Master, the Commander of the Faithful, glorified is his glory, confirmed them by referring the questioner to the Qur'an and to take what is contained therein of the Creator's attributes, and Sheikh al-Khasibi himself affirmed them based upon the verses of the Qur'an—as it is in the Epistle (al-Risalah) where he said:

"And his saying: 'Is He a body (jism) or an accident (‘arad)?'

We said to him: He is as He described Himself by the saying of He, the Exalted: {Everything will be destroyed except His Face. His is the judgement, and to Him you will be returned.”}

And His saying: {And Allah warns you of Himself.}

And His saying: {And that you would be brought up under My eye.}
