have warned and clarified in an explicit and clear manner that the vision of the Creator is other than the Creator—meaning: the Creator, glorified and exalted is He, is not seen by the one looking at Him except in accordance with the viewer's own attribute and form.

Just as our Sheikh, Allah purified his person, said: "However, He is not seen except in the likeness of the modality of bodies, forms, attributes, and instruments."

And what is intended by this speech is as Sheikh Kamil Salih Ma'ruf clarified by his saying in his Saha'if: "Meaning: He is—within what the sense of sight perceives—a body, a thing, and a form; while He is—within what the heart recognizes—far too exalted to be encompassed."

Thus, the Creator, glorified is He, is not seen except in accordance with the attribute of the one looking at Him. For this reason, the monotheists said: "It is not possible for anyone to see Him except in accordance with the attributes of their own being."

And they said: "Indeed, the Creator, upon His manifestation to His creations, grants every manifestation in accordance with its own attribute, and every locus of manifestation in accordance with its own appearance."
