And so that no one among the people imagines that the saying of the Sheikh al-Khasibi, Allah purified his person—"a light unlike lights, a thing unlike things, and a body unlike bodies"—
implies that He, glorified is He, is a light but merely greater than all other created lights, or that He is a thing but merely larger than all material things existing in the universe, or that He is a body but merely larger than all other bodies—meaning that He (God forbid) possesses a composite body like our bodies except that His body is larger than all human bodies, and that He has limbs like our limbs but the limbs of His body are vastly larger than the limbs of our bodies, such that His leg extends to the ends of the earth and His hands stretch upwards until they reach the clouds of the sky, and that He, glorified is He, through these massive and powerful limbs performs whatever miracles and capabilities He performs, and that were it not for their existence, He would not be able to perform any of those miracles and capabilities. Therefore, lest anyone imagine this erroneous and heinous meaning which leads its holder to perdition, the noble Masters, glorified is their glory, and the grand authorities from the people of Monotheism, peace be upon them,
