and that it is a Veil by which He shielded Himself. It is the very essence of His bringing into existence for the sake of the presence of the Power; He displayed it to make the sight of Him possible, so that the created being could be enabled to look upon Him, and so they could comprehend from Him the utterance of knowledge, forbearance, command, and prohibition—since speech and utterance do not occur except from a form.

Therefore, the pointing by intent is directed toward this Veil from the perspective through which the Essence (al-Ma‘na) manifested by means of it. This is because whosoever possesses this power as His power, then in objective reality, that physical form is not His true form; for physical forms differ and can be conceptualized by the mind, whereas the Power is subject to no disagreement, does not alter, and is not conditioned by boundaries. Verily, the attribute that the eyes perceive through accidental qualities (al-a‘rāḍ) is a veil over the Form of the Power; and through the existence of the Power, we directed our intent toward those veils as an affirmation of the manifestation of the Truth (al-Ḥaqq) through them and from them, in accordance with the statement of Al-Usūs:

“Wherever the Power is found, there is the Powerful.”
