And the Master al-Sadiq, glorified is his glory, said:

“Whosoever recognizes Him through His power and points toward Him from the perspective through which His tokens appeared—those are the companions of the Prince of the Faithful.”

It is also stated in Al-Tanbīh:

“No form restricted Him.”

The meaning of this phrase was explained by Sheikh Kamil Salih Ma‘ruf, Allah sanctified his secret, by his saying:

“Namely, it is impermissible for the gnostic to point during his worship while affirming what he witnesses within the Form regarding the attributes of a limited, created entity—which stem entirely from the side of the onlooker, not from the side of the Object looked upon. Rather, he points toward He, the Exalted, affirming the present, existing Outward manifestation and negating the delineations and boundaries, practicing devotion in accordance with the statement of the Infallible: ‘Whosoever negates what he perceived, affirms what he came to know, and worships what he found—those are the companions of the Prince of the Faithful.’”
