being fully cognizant of It and pointing toward It as being the Truth that has never departed from His true Being, even if He manifested to the plain sight of creation.”

For the Creator, in His outward manifestation, is identical to what He is in His inward reality; His manifestation via the visible Form did not displace Him from His true Essence. Thus, the pointing of divinity (al-ishārah bi-l-ulūhiyyah) is directed strictly to our Master, the Prince of the Faithful, glorified is his glory.

It is stated in Al-Tanbīh:

“Verily, the Creator is not locked into a physical form, and it is impermissible for the gnostic to point during his worship toward the visible Form while affirming what the eyes perceived of the conditions of created beings, or any of the fifteen states. Rather, he points toward the Outward manifestation and declares Him transcendent above the attributes of incapacity and above all attributes of created beings, by affirming the divine Power and the reality of plain sight.”
