And it came from the Master as-Sadiq, glorified is his glory: "The Ancient—meaning the Essence, exalted and majestic is His mention—demanded from His creation in His ancient appearance and His first manifestation the affirmation to Him and the confession to Him of singular Lordship, and manifestation is not by a veil nor from behind a veil, because manifestation is the uncovering of the veil from the sights of the gnostics."

And he also said, Allah sanctified him: "And we conclude this chapter with a parable close to the intellects if a person looks deeply into it, to bring close to the minds the meanings that we have affirmed in this inscribed form, which is that if you attempt a meaning among the meanings whose perception you are treating and you prolong thinking about it, and after effort your insight becomes clear and that meaning manifests to it, so you perceive it and know it, then you say: 'Such a meaning appeared to me, and flashed before my eyes, and manifested in my mind and thoughts,' to the end of what is there. And if you thought a little, you would find that the meaning that appeared to you did not change from what it was upon before it appeared to you, nor did it shift from what it was upon in its existence, and that the change was by you, from you, and in you,
