Therefore, just as the recognition of Allah from the stance of where He is remains impossible, likewise the vision of Him from the stance of where He is remains impossible. For this reason, the Creator, glorified is He, acted with subtle grace toward His servants, and He manifested to every genre like unto its own genre, and to every existing entity like unto its own attribute.
Consequently, the three manifestations—"Light, Radiance, and Shadow"—are the self-unveilings of the Sublime Essence to the Being of the Name, the Gate, and the Orphan. Meaning: He, glorified is He, manifested via the attribute of Light (al-Nūr) to the Master Name, via the attribute of Radiance (al-Ḍiyā’) to the Master Gate, and via the attribute of the Shadow (al-Ẓill) to the Master Orphan—just as He manifested to the world of humanity through a human form out of subtle grace, mercy, comfort, and as a fulfillment of His truthful promise within the precision of His Book by the statement of He, the Exalted: {And if there should come to you guidance from Me, then whoever follows My guidance—no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve.} 1
