Indeed, the people of monotheism entirely subscribe to this manifestation—the manifestation of homogeneity—yet they have alerted us to the fact that it is an imagination within the eyes of the onlookers, because the Creator, glorified is He, does not manifest except through His Sublime Essence.
It is stated in Al-Ṣuḥuf by the sanctified Sheikh Kamil Salih Ma'ruf, it is said:
"The Creator manifested to His creation like unto His creation; yet it is an imagination within their eyes, possessing no reality."
And he, Allah sanctified his secret, said:
"It is said: 'He homogenized with His created beings,' yet this does not mean that He is of their genre, for the Creator possesses no genre. Rather, it is an indication toward the witnessed, manifest Entity that appeared to the genre like unto the genre in the vision of plain sight—meaning, from the genre of the form upon which He created them. And had He manifested in a form other than the form homogeneous to their own forms, they would not have comprehended His command or His prohibition, and the divine wisdom within the manifestation would have been rendered void."
