has actually become part of the genre of His creation, or that He altered His Essence, exchanged His attributes, or transformed away from His Absolute Being—Exalted is Allah far above that! Rather, He merely displayed the manifestation of homogeneity within their eyes alone, not in objective reality; for He, glorified is He, is manifest from the stance of where He is, but we mortals perceived Him from the stance of where we are. Thus, the manifestation of homogeneity exists solely within the vision of the eye, not in objective reality, because it stems from the side of the onlooker, not from the side of the One looked upon. It is an imagination within the eyes that the Creator, glorified is He, displayed as an affirmation of His existence, a mercy to His servants, a source of comfort to them, and out of subtle grace toward them. Consequently, they find comfort in Him since they perceived Him in a form like unto their own forms, they comprehend His command and His prohibition, and they witness the proofs, signs, miracles, and tokens stemming from that form which manifests to every genre like unto its own genre—thereby rendering their recognition of Him sound through His vision, plain sight, and existence.
