And just as al-Makzun, Allah sanctified his secret, applied to the physical form the term 'imagination' (al-khayāl)—which is the dream-like phantom that comes to you during sleep and possesses no objective reality in fact—he, Allah sanctified his secret, likewise named it a 'mirage' (sarāb). And we well know that a mirage has no reality except within the vision of the eye, as he, Allah sanctified his secret, said:
“They are the mirage; so cast them away and incline
Toward the sanctuary and its flowing, spring water.”
The Allamah said: "An indication toward the negation of the attributes, alongside the affirmation of the Essence."
And he also said in verse:
“And my arriving at the mirage from her is my secondary praise,
Serving as a watering place for the thirsty after my parching thirst.”
The Allamah said: "And 'arriving at the mirage' here is an expression for the acknowledgment of the manifestation through the physical form; for the mirage is deemed by the onlooker to be water, while it is not so.
