And our Master ar-Rida, glorified is his glory, said:
"Whosoever points to Him by means of a form has pointed to a likeness of him; and whosoever points to a likeness of him has worshipped a human being."
And within The Treatise of Admonition by al-Istibari, Allah sanctified his secret:
"And what benefit is there in transcending the Creator above eating and drinking, while establishing Him as a physical form in reality?"
And it came in The Admonition (al-Tanbih):
"Thus, whosoever swerves from it—meaning, from monotheism (al-tawḥīd)—and the degree of his knowledge fails to reach this station, such as Shihab al-Arbali and his likeness among the literalist Anthropomorphists (al-mujassimah al-ḥashwiyyah) who affirm a specific, sensory form, is counted among the common, weak, and destitute believers.
And he said in another place:
"As for the elite of the elite (khawāṣṣ al-khawāṣṣ), they transcend the Truth, majestic is His praise, above physical form and formal configuration (al-taṣwīr) at all times and seasons."
