And whosoever manifests miracles, that is not his form in reality, because this is the form of the helpless human being."

And the Refuter, Allah sanctified his secret, said:

"As for that which the fleshly, bloody eyes witnessed, it is neither a form, nor a veil, nor a physical body worn by the Essence (al-Ma'na), nor is it something to be touched by hand, nor does it possess a shadow like the shadow of human beings. Rather, it is a spiritual cause (‘illah) upon the people of blind comprehensions and denier understandings; it is the veil of halting (hijāb al-waqfah) that imprisoned you, O Sheikh, within the physical structures, and it is a cause that showed you the Creator eating and drinking—exalted is He far above that, and greatly sublimated."

And our Master Abu Sa'id said in The Success-Bringing Treatise (al-Najhiyyah):

"And He manifested eating, yet He is not an eater; He manifested drinking, yet He is not a drinker; He manifested being killed, yet He is not killed; He manifested children, yet He is not a father; and He manifested that He is a form, yet He is not a form."
