And you, O my master—may Allah guard you—ponder what I have mentioned to you with the eye of insight and comprehension, and bring it to the hearing of this brother—may Allah pardon him—and open the lock of his heart after meeting with my masters, the brothers, may Allah guard them with His eye that does not sleep and His might that is not wronged. And do not pass over it lightly, for happiness is through comprehension, not in rote transmission, and as it was said: "Comprehension is better than transmission," and a report that you comprehend is better than a thousand reports that you transmit, and a report from its source is better than what the earth has carried of gold and silver; so whoever accepts it, Allah will ease him and grant him success, and whoever dislikes it, do not pass judgment upon him with disbelief, nor deficiency, nor rejection.

Every person carries what he carries and what was for him; He the Exalted said: "And whoever Allah guides - he is the [rightly] guided; and whoever He sends astray - you will never find for them protectors besides Him." 1
