So glory be to He who is thus, not as the deviants described Him in His names, and the falsifiers in His monotheism, and the resemblers with His lordship, and the polytheists with His divinity.

O Ghilba: this is My attribute, and We have given you from Us a reminder.

For if there did not come of the reports other than this report from the utterance of the Meaning, the Single, the Unique, the Eternal Refuge who neither begets nor is born and there is not any equivalent to Him, and His pointing to His essence, there would have been therein sufficiency and a convincing element for him whom Allah intends with him his happiness and His success for His will.

And from what my sheikh, who bestowed favors upon me, narrated to me, he said: The Sheikh Abu al-Husayn Muhammad bin Ali al-Jali, may Allah have mercy on him, narrated to me, raised to the Scholar, majestic is His mention, and he had been asked about that which the eyes saw: Is it He He in His totality, or does the sight see a part rather than another part, or does no one perceive Him?
