Whoever does not preserve it is a disbeliever, censured, killed, reviled, and metamorphosed (Mamsukh), according to the saying of the Exalted in Surah Al-Baqarah: {And you had already known about those who transgressed among you concerning the Sabbath, and We said to them, "Be apes, despised." And We made it a deterrent punishment for those who were present and those who succeeded [them] and a lesson for those who fear Allah} (Al-Baqarah 65-66).

This indicates that whoever transgresses by profaning the Sabbath must undergo metamorphosis (Maskh); meaning, whoever attributes to His Luminous Person—which is symbolized by it—any of the states and what occurs to their masters, and does not transcend Him above them, then he is metamorphosed. May Allah protect us and the believers from that.

Know also that the application of the name of the Sabbath, in the obscure inward reality, to the Seventh Luminous, Celestial, Higher, Spiritual Existence is to denote that He, the Exalted, whenever He manifests to an existence among the celestial and terrestrial existences, He is named with its names, described with its attributes, and appears to it as its own essence.
