honoring and glorification for it, because He did not name it as the names of the days were named, nor did He include it in the numbering with them; rather, He indicated it after the mention of the six days.

Just as it was mentioned in the epistle of our Luminous Sheikh after the six existences, while in reality it is the foremost, the oldest, the most majestic, the greatest, the highest, and the best of all the existences and days, by the proof of the saying of the Exalted in Surah Hud:

{And it is He who created the heavens and the earth in six days—and His Throne was upon the water} (Hud 7). This indicates that He, the Exalted, His Throne—which is the Seventh Existence—was upon the water—which is the Most Noble Gate—before He created the heavens and the earth—they are the Great World and the Small World—by means of those six days which are the Existences (Akwan).

He named these Luminous Existences with the names of the days, just as He named the persons of the celestial worlds of light and their inward knowledges with the names of the acts of worship—which are the five outward Limits (Hudud) and their attachments—for the purpose of concealment (tastur).
