unbelief, youthful extravagance, and profligacy.
The house of immorality is their pilgrimage site, and idols of obscenity
are what they worship, while their religion is mere seduction.
Their prayer is the spreading of lust, wherein
red lewdness yawns behind its veil.

and distorted the meanings of what the sages spoke.
They deified "Curie" and "Edison"
or "Hugo" and "Lamartine," yet all is but vanity.
God is Greater! How their hearts never soften
are those truly hearts, or solid, unyielding rock?
What is the excuse of the wayward when they never asked
though the path is filled with guiding mentors?
Modesty has vanished, save for a calm remnant
among them, while he who grants life is but a fading breath.
Woe unto the thirsty lamb, while all of them
are wolves that have seized the watering-hole against him.
If he yearns for the sweet, pure water, he is barred
by a fang sharpened by the points of malice
