What have you left behind your glory to be beheld

O leader of the righteous among the folk of devotion

Yesterday you were and still are the spring of guidance

To your pure fountain they constantly repair

They frequent its Kauthar, and never is he wronged

Who takes the spring of guidance as his watering place

O folder of days as a treasure of piety

and noble traits—never shall decay enfold you

Which of the dilemmas have you not unveiled its hardships

While others but complicated and made them more intricate

And you clarified in Unicity the secrets of guidance

While others sought to obscure them and never revealed

And poets sang like ravens of separation

But you sang out among them and were the nightingale
