For in six days the Lord made the heavens, the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it..."

And in the Holy Quran, with that meaning, is the saying of the Exalted: {And you had already known about those who transgressed among you concerning the Sabbath, and We said to them, "Be apes, despised." And We made it a deterrent punishment for those who were present and those who succeeded [them] and a lesson for those who fear Allah} (Al-Baqarah 65-66).

In the Torah, the Gospel, the Psalms, and the Quran, there are many of these sayings; I have omitted them for brevity, as the wise expert finds a little to be sufficient instead of much.

Notice: Indeed, Moses (PBUH) ordered the killing of anyone who desecrates the Sabbath

Notice: Our master Moses—peace be upon him—commanded the killing of everyone who profanes the Sabbath day, and that was by the command of his Lord. In the Quran, the Exalted informed us that those who transgressed regarding the Sabbath (meaning they profaned it) were transformed into despised apes.
