And Eternity slumbers within its embrace
Intoxicated by the pure nectar of its disciplines
Divine Power flutters at its peak
And Justice is tethered to its tent-ropes
And the Jinn slip through its vast spaces
Submitting1 to the terror with their fangs
Goodness lashes them with the whip of requital
And Forbearance seizes them by their necks
The sign of Jesus was sent down among us
Has anyone among us triumphed save its companions?
And the fire of Moses at his Sinai
And the palm tree of the Virgin in her sanctuary
And the cup of Socrates, yet it is
For the adversary, nothing but the venom it exhales
And the garment of Jacob when a soul
Grows dark and finds no rest in its affliction
And the Lady of the Crown upon her throne
