for revealing them is forbidden among the People of the Outer (Ahl al-Zahir) due to the obligation of concealing them from them and the prohibition of manifesting [secrets] to them, yet it is lawful among the People of the Inward (Ahl al-Batin) due to the obligation of manifesting [secrets] to them and the prohibition of concealing them from them.
Indeed, the Exalted did not mandate the concealment of the Inward from the people of disbelief, nor did He make it a prohibition for them [to know it], except because of their denial, their disbelief, their persistence, and [the necessity of] dissimulation (Taqiyya) from them, according to the saying of the Almighty: {“Indeed, if they come to know of you, they will stone you or return you to their religion, and then you will never succeed.”} (Al-Kahf 20).
The Master Christ—peace be upon him—said regarding this meaning:
“Do not give what is holy to the dogs, and do not cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.”
And the Almighty said: “{And do not recite your prayer [too] loudly nor [too] quietly...}” (Al-Isra' 110).
Meaning: Do not recite it loudly among the disbelievers, and do not hide it among the believers.
