Our Master, the Commander of the Believers (PBUH), prohibited immoralities [Fawahish] and speaking of them in the poem attributed to him, saying:
"And avoid immorality; do not speak of it,
as long as you are in the seriousness of speech or its jest."
All the People of Monotheism [Ahl al-Tawhid] have agreed on their prohibition, both outwardly and inwardly, because He (the Exalted) explicitly stated in His Mighty Book the prohibition of their outward and inward aspects. He made an exception after the prohibition of the forbidden things by saying: {But whoever is forced [by necessity], neither desiring [it] nor transgressing...} (Al-An'am 145). This is like the example of His saying: {...except one who takes [but] a handful with his hand} (Al-Baqarah 249). Each of these carries a distinct [esoteric] meaning.
Among the sayings regarding what is forbidden outwardly and inwardly is His saying (the Exalted) in Surah al-An'am:
{Say, "I do not find within that which was revealed to me [anything] forbidden to one who would eat it unless it be a dead animal or blood spilled out or the flesh of swine—for indeed, it is impure—or impious [meat] dedicated to other than Allah. But whoever is forced [by necessity], neither desiring [it] nor transgressing, then indeed, your Lord is Forgiving and Merciful."
