And among them was he who hesitated and was bewildered between doubt and certainty.

We ask Him, the Exalted, for pardon, protection, and guidance to what He loves and is pleased with.

Know, O inquirer, that there is no prophet except that he has changed a law of those before him, and that is to indicate the rejection of the Outward and the affirmation of the Inward.

As for the saying of the Exalted: {Say, "O People of the Scripture, you are [standing] on nothing until you uphold the Torah, the Gospel, and what has been revealed to you from your Lord"} (Al-Ma'idah 68).

No changing the words of Allah

If His intent, the Exalted, was the outward of the speech, He would not have replaced the two laws of the Torah and the Gospel and their rulings with a replacement. Likewise, if His intent, the Exalted, was the Outward, it would have been mandatory for us to uphold the law of Moses and Jesus—peace be upon them both—just as we uphold the law of Muhammad (PBUH), as the outward of the previous verse indicates.

Indeed, the outward laws, of which some abrogate others, are not the "words of Allah" referred to in the saying of the Exalted: {No change is there in the words of Allah} (Yunus 64).
