I say, seeking aid from the Possessor of Might and Power:

As for that which is permitted for use for Physical Need [Haja Jasmaniyya]: It is like eating, drinking, clothing, and all medical drugs; and that is for the life of the natural, physical bodies.

As for that which is permitted for use for Spiritual Need [Haja Ruhiyya]: It is like the knowledge of the inward meanings [Bawatin] of these Five Worships, the belief in them, and the belief in the persons and knowledge of all the inward meanings of the teachings, the religious requirements, and other inward meanings of the praised worldly things.

As for that which is permitted for use for Religious and Worldly Need together: It is like the Outward Forms [Zhawahir] of these Five Worships and similar images and examples of the worldly [images] through which the Exalted addressed us in His Mighty Book, so that we may use them as evidence for the Inward and simultaneously make them a veil for the Inward.

As for that which is permitted for use for Verbal and Religious Need together: It is like the science of Numbers [Abjad], arithmetic, grammar, morphology, and all the linguistic sciences, and similar verbal examples mentioned by Allah the Exalted in His Mighty Book. This is to point toward their inward meanings and for their worldly benefits.
