It is as I said in verse:

What is the Hajj in the law of love except a Form

Expressing the existence of Hidden Meanings?

The path of guidance for those walking its way

And its milestones are the Ages of the Sun of Paternity.

Its Safa is the purity of the heart from the turbidity within it

And its Marwa contains the perfection of Chivalry.

And its Waymark [Mash'ar] is veiled from anyone who is not a Perceiver [Sha'ir]

Of what my soul has proposed through passion.

And its Kaaba is a Mim [Muhammad]

by the light of whose Whiteness, My insight has prepared to behold beauty.

And its Goal is manifest from the peak of beauty

Toward its Inward, which is veiled from every eye.

The rituals of the Hajj in their entirety are set against internal meanings, according to what we have previously mentioned: that the Speakers [Al-Nutuqa’] among the Messengers (prayers of Allah be upon them) did not command the preservation of any form of the outward
