Likewise, people say: "It was only named Arafah because Adam and Eve recognized one another there when they descended to Earth." However, its [true] meaning is: that the believers "recognize" one another there, which is to recognize Muhammad, who is the Great Praiseworthy Adam [Adam al-Mahmud al-Kabir].

Eve [Hawwa] in this station is Khadija bint Khuwaylid. Al-Muzdalifa: Safiyya bint Abd al-Muttalib. These are the Symbols of Allah [Sha'a'ir Allah] from the Lights, regarding whom Allah commanded that His right be established through them, and through remembrance and glorification of Allah, the One, the Mighty, the Majestic, and the Blessed. This is what we have narrated from one of the perspectives.

Regarding what I asked the reliable Sheikh Abu al-Husayn Muhammad bin Ali al-Jilli (may Allah be pleased with him) concerning this meaning, about the persons of Safa and Marwa: He said: They are the persons of Abu Talib and Fatima bint Asad.

I asked him about the person of Arafah and al-Tarwiya?

He said: Arafah is Fatir [Fatima], and al-Tarwiya is Umm Salama.

I asked him about the person of the Black Stone? He said: He is al-Miqdad.

I asked him about the person of the Water-spout [Mizrab]? He said: He is Abd al-Ka'bah, who is the uncle of the Master Muhammad (peace be upon him).
