Likewise, the station of Umm Salama is unknown to the people of the Outward [Zahir], yet in the Inward [Batin] she is "of the House" [Al-Bayt] because she is one of the persons of the Gate [Salman]. Our Master the Messenger (pbuh) said: "The Stone is from the House."

His saying, "Whose personification is the declaration of 'Tehlil'": means that the Persons of the House, which is the Qibla, are persons who declare the unity of Allah [Tehlil], sanctify, judge, and act. They are not a plot of land or a wall; know that well.

Nor the throwing of pebbles,

Nor a circumambulation that goes around.

The Jamarat [pillars] at which pebbles are thrown are stones. First, it is mandatory to wash them so the hand is not defiled by them; they are seventy pebbles in origin.

It has been narrated that the three Jamarat are the First, the Second, and the Third [historical adversaries]. The remaining pebbles that are thrown represent the number of persons of the Opposite [Al-Didd] from the Jāniyya Dome to the Muhammadan Dome—the first of them is Azazil [Iblis] and the last of them is the Second.

It was also said: they are forty pebbles, indicating his [the Opposite's] persons who appear with him in every age and time.
