The proof of this is His (the Exalted) address to Maryam [Mary] with His saying:

{So eat and drink and be contented. And if you see from among humanity anyone, say, "Indeed, I have vowed to the Most Merciful a fast, so I will not speak today to any human"} (Maryam 26).

And that [concealment] was after their persistence in the denial of Gnosis [Ma'rifa] and their adherence to disbelief, according to the saying of the Exalted: {And We did not wrong them, but it was they who used to wrong themselves} (An-Nahl 118). And the Exalted said: {But those who wronged among them changed [the word] to a statement other than that which had been said to them} (Al-A'raf 162).

This indicates that He (the Exalted) manifested plotting [Makr] and cloaking [Talbis] upon them after their disbelief and persistence. And Allah knows best what is right.
