from Hisham, from al-Mufaddal ibn Umar. He said: Our Master al-Sadiq—from him is Mercy—said:
Taqiyya became mandatory for the believers since Cain killed Abel.
And from Muhammad bin Musa al-Karkhi, from Abu Samina, from Ibn Sinan, from our Master al-Sadiq—peace be from him—that he said: "Our affair is a secret within a secret, veiled in pearls; whoever broadcasts it has violated the veil of Allah over us."
And it was narrated: "...has violated the Hujab [Veil] of Allah."
And from al-Adawi, from Yunus bin Zabyan, from the Scholar—from him is mercy—that he said: "Allah has hidden this affair until it was thought that He loved not to be worshipped."
And from him—peace be from him—that he said: "The People of the Cave [Ashab al-Kahf] concealed faith and manifested disbelief. In their manifestation of disbelief, they were greater in reward than in their concealment of faith, so Allah gave them their reward twice over."
And by the same chain from him—upon us be his peace—that he said: "Beware of revealing the Secret, for it shortens life, blinds the heart, and cuts off provision." Then he recited:
{Indeed, Satan is an enemy to you, so take him as an enemy} (Fatir 6).
And the saying of the Exalted: {So fear Allah as much as you can} (At-Taghabun 16).
